Blue Hole - New Mexico (Santa Rosa) Photos

Blue Hole - New Mexico (Santa Rosa) Photos

There is a natural diving hole in New Mexico named BLUE HOLE.
After we visited Billy the Kid's grave in Fort Sumner, we dropped by at this Snata Rosa's famous water hole. It was natural and this area has abundent of water thanks to this Blue Hole.

Water from subterranean river is flowing 3000 gallon per minutes.
60 feet across and 81 feet deep (approximate 25 meter deep) with constant temperature of 61 degree F.

Visitors arrive not only near by Southwest States, but also some times from Virginia etc...

I visited twice, both times after visiting Billy the Kid's grave.
Kid's grave is located far east from Santa Rosa and always felt very lonesome, driving and location.
Kid is dead over 100years but he is still imprisoned in the locked graveyard. This time, to protect from grave diggers.

Always abundance of water means fertility on farming. This Santa Rosa was deteriorated after I-40 developed in 1970, before it was famous station for Route 66.
But now, by this Blue Hole and nearby Lake, people come to visit this area more.
