SFV Bonsai Club April meeting was successfully ended today - April 24, 4th Sunday, 2022.
March meeting was small gathering because of Covid-19 threat. But today, it was big. We had over 15 people joined in this meeting including 2 new members.
It was a beautiful sunny day and we truly enjoyed Bonsai Class meeting in this nice gathering place in Thousand Oaks.
It was nice to know young new member was eager to learn Bonsai Art from the beginning and we have great teachers to show how it is done. And this place is truly very nice with open air, nice view and quiet location with a lot of nature in this backyard.
I know there is a Turtle on the ground, but in winter months, they were hiding somewhere else and in this April warm days, they showed great figures.
I saw 3 turtles. Oldest one is supposed to be age over 30. Looking at their easy style, we feel we can relax and we should learn to be at ease.
I brought many sprouts of Hollyhock and gave away to the members who can try to grow this beautiful flowers.
I had a chance to talk with one observer whose grand-daughter was now new member at age 7 or 8, very young indeed, but showed interest in Bonsai Arts.
As usual, we had great luncheon, snacks and nice talks. I believe everybody enjoyed and relaxed. I believe this is truly very healthy activity. And we feel we are lucky to have this meeting place in nice area thanks to president of Bonsai Club.
We will have next meeting in May 22, 4th Sunday as usual.
We learned this year we don't have Bonsai Show at Obon Festival although they have Bon-Odori (?)

４月２４日、第４日曜日、SFV Bonsai Club の月例会Meetingが無事終了した。
３月はコロナ騒ぎがあって、参加者は最低数であったが、今回はNew Member２名を入れると１５名ほどの盛会であった。
今日は天気も良く、気持ちの良い日であった。冬の間、見かけなかったTurtle 亀さん３匹を見かけることができた。のんびりとMy paceで歩いている姿を見ると、何か見習うべきものがあるように感じるほどの落ち着きであった。
ここThousand Oaksの盆栽クラブ会場への道もHills yaGreenが豊富で気持ち良いドライブができ、静かな会合場所で、落ち着いて盆栽ととりくも、あるいは仲間と様々な話題を論じることができ、精神衛生上すばらしいと感じる会合であった。
いつものように、主にミセスによる饗宴を私たちは感謝しながら頂いた。静かな天気の良い日に自然が豊かな環境で、私たちは盆栽作業だけでなく、いろいろな話題を楽しむことができた。まさに健康的な会合であった。
次回は５月の第４日曜日、２２日、同じThousand Oaksの会長宅・裏庭で実行する。
