After visiting Texas's Big Bend National Park, there are two drives to choose.
One way is to visit this Barmorhea State Recreation Area and other way is to visit beautiful Davis Mountains Loop and McDonald Observatory=one of top 10 observatory in the world.
I visited 3 or 4 times this so called largest natural spring-fed swimming pool.
One time, it was once a year's cleaning time, and it was good to see pool bottom, still water abundant and various creatures staying quiet - fish, shrimp, cram, plant etc...
And once I entered into this pool and short swimmed with small fishes.
This is Texas size largest pool in the America.
Blue Hole of New Mexico is 80 feet(25 meter) deep.
This pool is at deepest, about 30 feet=9 meter.
But in this desert area, abundance of water made farming possible. Neighborhood are great farming ground with water 26 Million Gallon per day. And pool size is 68000 square feet.
Watre temperature is around 72-76, just good for swimming.
Many divers visit this pool and of course kids can swim safely in this big pool at secluded area.
Blue Hole of NM is 3000 gallon per minute. So which is which?
3000X60X24=4.32 Million per day.
That means Texas pool is truly Texas size=6 times more than Blue Hole water flow.
This spring is called San Solomon Spring and this pool's water is changed every 6 hours. And water from this pool is utilized by neighbor 14000 Acre's farm land.
