Annual New Year Party of SFV Bonsai Club was held at Chief's residence today.
Members attended were 15.
We had gorgeous Luncheon of Obento, which was enjoyed by everybody.
I, as Treasurer collected membership fee of $50 and New Year Party fee of $30, total $80 per person from each member.
I believe everybody enjoyed casual, party mood at this party.
We had door prizes Raffle with so many donations. Somebody donated many good Bonsai and pots. Last December at Year end Party, we received Bonsai tools as door prizes. This time, nice Bonsai potted were door prizes. Thank you Donator.
Other members also donated good Pots and Bonsai related tools.
Unfortunately, I did not have such things. I donated several Classic music CDs and others. But some members thanked me for these donations. So, I believe everybody was happy and enjoyed not only door prizes but casual talks with other members.
Some members were promised to come but with various reasons, could not attend this party.
It happens, so we all just welcomed each member attended in this party.
Tomorrow, January 26 it 4th Sunday, and we will have regular monthly meeting at this same place at around 8:30 AM. January is best potting, transplanting and grafting season, so members are expected to bring plant and pot for this occasion. Some new visitors might come to see what we are doing. So, we welcome everybody who wants to know and learn some Bonsai technique from our Bonsai master & great teachers. (I am permanent amateur on Bonsai matter but important treasurer.)
２０２０年１月２５日、予定通りSFV Bonsai Clubの新年会がチーフ宅で開かれました。
参加者は１５名で、数年前と比べると大分少なくなりましたが、皆気の合ったメンバーで気持ちよいひと時を過ごせました。
予告してあった通り、有志はドアー・プライズ用の景品を沢山持参してくださり、なんと１回のRaffleくじ引き だけでなく、私など４回分の景品をもらい受けました。サンキューDonators. そして感心なことに、ほとんどのDonatorsはギフト用のPaper wrapをされていました。私はいつものようにPaper wrappingもなく、裸で提出し、何となく恥ずかしく感じました。やはり普段からの心掛けがこういう場面であらわれるのでしょう。
お弁当は上等の幕の内スタイルで、会長がサンタモニカのレストランまでPick upに行ってくださり、今年は少し上等な料理を味わうこととなりました。
私は１月はいろいろな行事に参加していそがしかっただけでなく、２０歳を超えた猫をなくしたばかり、そしてワイフがBest Friendsから引き取ってきた猫がShyすぎて親しくなじまなかったため、２週間ほどでBest Friendsに返すというややこしいケースにまきこまれ、あまりゆっくり皆さんと会話を楽しめるムードではなかったので、４時頃、少し早い目にPartyを引き上げさせていただきました。
２年前に生まれたばかりのBabyをつれて参加されたメンバーがミセスが働いているということで、Baby sitterをかねて２歳を過ぎたばかりのかわいい子供を連れて参加され、立派に成長しているのを見る機会がありました。２歳でパソコンで遊んでいて、お父さんが少し見えなくなると心配して泣きそうになったのを見ることになり、赤ちゃんを育てるのは大変だと悟りました。
明日、１月２６日は第４日曜日にあたり、今日の明日ですが、同じチーフ宅で盆栽クラブの会合が開かれ、盆栽クラブの様子を見てみたいというFuture member candidateも何人かくるかもしれないということです。１月は育てた盆栽をPotに移すいい時期であり、接ぎ木その他の時期なので、みなさん、それぞれ盆栽を持参して参加されることを期待しています。
