I believe everybody enjoyed today's meeting.
Weather was fine and no fire or water disaster around members' residences.
14 members gathered on today's meeting and I myself brought 3 pots of Bonsai, which were taken care of by Master and great teachers. This time, I also worked with wire to make shape steady.
And of course, as recording secretary, I took pictures and counted members.
Our Bonsai Club President has just returned from trip to Japan, where he was awarded some honorable prize. His family still remain in Japan, so today we missed Mrs. President's nice snacks, but we had some Japanese cookies from members who visited Japan. They said they enjoyed travel to Japan with fine weather and nice sceneries. One member brought big persimmons and Japanese oranges. It looks like fertile year for Persimmons. After this meeting, I visited Master-sensei's house and awarded many persimmons directly taken from the tree by other voluntary members.
December meeting was scheduled on 8th, 2nd Sunday, because JACC has some ceremony scheduled on December 15, 3rd Sunday and we are invited to attend ceremony for Pine Tree Planting we made in August and September after hard labor without any injuries. We will be there, JACC at around 2:00 PM. I heard some small luncheon or snacks will be provided to members who attend their ceremony.
Our December meeting on 8th will be no Bonsai work, but Pot-Luck party starting at 10:00 AM. We will have Raffle/Door prize on this occasion. So, members who have something useful to winners but not in need by themselves are recommended to bring some door prizes, if you have any. This is voluntary base and no need to spend money for this occasion.
We had some talk about medical issues such as high-blood pressure and medication and I told my experiences on how to control blood pressure and high pulse rate etc and also how to work against Cancer by believing own vital energy to keep healthy energy intact regardless of doctors' fatal announcements. And looking at some Bonsai members enjoying health after diagnose of Cancer and enjoying life, it works to keep own health maintained. I also talked about Muscle Cramp which cause severe pain while sleeping and how to ease it. I asked UCLA primary doctor about muscle cramp, but he had no idea how to ease the pain. But now I found by myself and now I can relax when it happens. It's easy. Just stand up if sleeping or use wall to push legs and the pain will be minimized. Anyway, when we have meeting, we could discuss on various issues and it helps us. Merits of meeting, in addition to learning Bonsai techniques.
今日、24日はSFV Bonsai Clubの会合日。10月はWild Fireが各地で起きて大変でしたが、今月は天国も恵まれ、楽しい会合となりました。計14名が参加して、作業もにぎわい、そのあとのスナック・タイムもみんなで楽しめました。
私はJuniperの盆栽ポットを3つ持ち込んで、先生方に指導していただきながら、私もWireを使ったりして、それなりに勉強になりました。見ているだけでも勉強になりますが、やはり自分の手で扱うのがベスト。
会長は日本を訪問され、なにかこれまでの貢献に対して表彰されたようで、最近、帰国されたばかり。ミセスなどは少し遅れて帰国ということで、今日は会長だけご出席。いつもミセスが立派なスナックを用意されるので、ごちそうになれているメンバーですが、今日はやはり日本訪問を果たされたほかのメンバーからのクッキーの差し入れや、会長からのミニ・ドーナッツなど、そして他のものもいただきながら話が弾みました。メンバーの一人は自宅の庭からとれたというとても立派なカキやミカンをいただき、それぞれありがたく頂戴しました。
メンバー間の話も弾み、楽しいひと時を過ごせました。
12月の行事は、まず第2週の日曜日、8日が盆栽クラブのPot Luck Partyの日で、この日は盆栽作業は無し、10時ごろからスタートで、有志がDoor Prizesを持ち込んで、くじ引きをするということ。家に不要で使えるものがあればDonateしてくださいとお願いしました。Pot Luck Partyなので、各自なにか食べるもの、または、飲むものを持ち込んで、みんなで忘年会を楽しみます。
12月15日はJACCの祝典日とかで、私たち盆栽クラブメンバーは2時からのPine Tree Planting Ceremonyに招待されているので、有志は2時ごろに参加するということになりました。なにかスナックが用意されているとのことです。
来年の盆栽ショーでセールス予定の盆栽を今からPotに立ち上げて準備することが必要というアドバイスがマスターから告げられ、12月にもう一度確認するとのことでした。ちゃんと早い目にPotに準備してしっかり根付かせていないと、せっかくの盆栽も長持ちしないで駆らせてしまうケースが多発するそうです。
わたしは会合が終わってからマスター宅に立ち寄り、裏庭にたわわに実った柿の実をほかの若いメンバーが道具を使ってとってくれたのを沢山いただきました。
