On October 27, 2019, we had regular Bonsai Club meeting. Members attended was 12 and we enjoyed quiet, peaceful meeting with serious Bonsai work and also potting soil making with Organic Potting soil and Washed plaster sand mixing at ration of 1 to 1.
We enjoyed foods, snack and fruits mainly prepared by Mrs. of president of Bonsai Club.
And one member had fishing trip and brought Tuna =for sashimi a lot. And I brought home and enjoyed Sashimi at home.
Since fire damaged so much of our neighboring mountains, we talked a lot about fire. One member told me his house was safe from fire but other neighboring area were no so lucky. He showed me great photos he took. I know personally since I drove nearby fire-damaged area. But we, Bonsai members were lucky without serious damage as general.
October 2nd, we (member of 3) visited Kim's Bonsai near Victorville to purchase most necessary goods to Bonsai activity = WIRE and purchased 43 bundles of different size. On this day, October 27, we sold to some members 27 bundles since visiting this remote place is not easy job. It took us almost 2 hours to arrive at destination where Joshua Trees grow a lot. We even had not enough time to eat lunch at restaurant and ate cup-noodle at Sensei's house after returned.
President of Bonsai Club announced December schedule by JACC, on 15, 3rd Sunday at Noon, JACC has Pine Tree planting ceremony in addition to other ceremony and we, Bonsai Club members were invited, since we, voluntarily contributed planting and shaping of this particulr Pine Tree at JACC garden space.
Before this event, we have Potluck Party on December 8 at 10:00 AM. We don't have any Bonsai operation, just party only on this day.
November meeting will be held at 24, 4th Sunday.

10月の盆栽クラブ月例会は27日、第4日曜日に開かれ、12名の出席となりました。
丁度、南カリフォルニアは山火事が荒れ狂ったあとで、メンバーのなかには火事騒ぎの地域におられる方もいるので心配しましたが、幸い、みなさん、ご無事だったようで何よりでした。
10月2日にメンバーの３名がVictorville近くにあるKim's BonsaiへWireを仕入れに出かけ、State Highway １４で山を横断しましたが、その１４が通っているNewhallが火事ということで、心配しましたが、幸い、家は無事であったという話を聞き、ホッとしました。
買ってきたWireをさっそくメンバーに買っていただきました。個人でJoshua Treeの生えているKim's Bonsaiまで行くことは大変な労力で、時間もガソリンもかかるので、みなさん、喜んで購入されました。
今日も会長夫人が用意された赤飯や枝豆、スナックとフルーツをみんなで賞味し、メンバーの一人がFishingで得たというTunaの刺身用切り身のFrozenをそれぞれ分けていただきました。その晩私はさっそくご飯を炊いて、Freshといえるマグロの刺身をおいしくいただきました。最近病弱で体の弱っている猫もよろこんでいただきました。
会長からは12月の JACC（Japanese American Community Center) が15日の日曜日に松の木の植樹祭を行事の一つとしてやるということで、この松の移植に直接関係したBonsai Clubのメンバーも招待され、一応10人ほどが参加することになりました。8月の24，25日と9月の29日と計3日かけて松の移植・成型を行ったわけで、メンバーの参加は当然期待されているわけです。
12月8日の第2日曜日は盆栽クラブの忘年会・Pot Luck Partyということで、盆栽作業は行わず、10時からPartyを楽しもうということになりました。
11月24日は第4日曜日で、月例会はこの日に実行されます。例年、第4日曜日はThanksgiving Weekendsにあたり、それを避けるため、一周早く会合を実行してきましたが、今回はThanksgiving weekからは離れているので、第4週の日曜日、24日に集まります。
10月会合の写真のほかにKim's Bonsaiを訪れたときの写真も少し添付しておきます。
